Forget the usual management textbooks and abstract theory, they dont help one bit when you enter the bearpit of the corporate executive world. This book explains what really happens in the management world. It de-mystifies the political games and corprate mechanism used by executives to look good and get what they want. It was written many years before the excesses of the tech crash and the GFC however its explanations are very apt given the aftermath of those events. It is not totally pessimistic at all as it presents managements truths that if followed create a positive approach to being an executive. I know that when I enetred the executive workforce, this book certainly helped me understand what was happening around me. True it is dated now but its core findings havent varied much. Well worth a read.
