I am nearing the end of this book and one image the author uses remains with me...I am the one who doesn't see the gorilla - I only see what matters to me and sometimes that focus is good, but sometimes it keeps me from seeing what I need to see. As Mr. Magid writes, like many entrepreneurs reading this book I too often fill my day putting out fires and completing easy daily tasks - items I could delegate to others. The big decisions that really matter are scary and out of my comfort zone. When I gather my courage to focus on a business-changing action, success usually follows the fear..but the fear comes first and is mighty curbing! This book forces me to look at myself honestly and make a very big decision - make the changes that will really change my business and my life.

Richard Magid's Small Shifts is a must read for Entrepreneurs. Changing a growing business is like trying to change the wheels on a moving bus...difficult, challenging, and must be done correctly or there will be significant damage. The concepts and processes described in this book are critical knowledge for business owners who know they need change but are not quite sure how to accomplish their desired outcomes. Thank you Richard for making your knowledge avaialable in a quick and easy read.

I found Mr Magids' treatise an excellent resource for managers and students of business. It's chock-full of clever metaphors that illuminate the myriad of challenges we face on a daily basis.
Thanks for honestly relating your personal experience, it served to point out the heuristics that all of us bring to the decision making and business building process.

A must read----

Kudos Mr Magid!!
