This atlas works for major roads but none of the minor back roads are labled. As always, great quality from AA Road Atlas. Great to have this on my recent trip to Ireland. Wouldn't be without one in my travels.

This atlas works for major roads but none of the minor back roads are labled. And many of the sights we wanted to see were on those back roads. Plus only major landmarks (such as castles and ancient ruins were on the map. Google maps on a smart phone worked the best.

The AA Ireland Road Atlas is much superior to the Ordnance Survey version. Lots more color and detail. The atlas was a great supplement to the TomTom that came with our Hertz rental car booked through Easy Tour Ireland (which I highly recommend)

The AA Ireland Road Atlas is much superior to the Ordnance Survey version. Having just returned from 10 days driving around Eire, the map was dead on. Except for towns and cities - no street signs in Ireland, although the roads between A and B are well marked, and the roundabouts surprisingly negotiable. The atlas was a great supplement to the TomTom that came with our Hertz rental car booked through Easy Tour Ireland (which I highly recommend). I have traveled by car in many parts of Europe, but in Ireland we met our match. I can't imagine traveling without a GPS system of some sort.

Updated from Ireland's official mapping agencies, OSI and OSNI, this atlas includes AA-approved camping sites and AA-recommended golf courses. Road Atlas Ireland has been added to your Cart.

AA Road Atlas Ireland AA Ireland Road Atlas.

We used this atlas to plan a trip from Dublin to Kinsale then to the Kerry, Mayo and Galway. No problems at all once we found the large scale index to the maps in the front.

Collins Ireland Comprehensive Road Atlas. We used this atlas to plan a trip from Dublin to Kinsale then to the Kerry, Mayo and Galway. Not exactly as intuitive as some other atlases if you just open to a random page but if you use the index it works great. We used this mostly to plan as we also had a Garmin Ireland gps chip to give directions and the two of them as a team (Garmin for turn by turn, Road Atlas for planning) worked great.

This atlas is inferior to the Ordnance Survey Atlas (ISBN 978-1-905511-40-2). We bought the AA atlas before our Ireland trip and found we needed the Ordnance Survey atlas once we got there.

What an amazing book! The Road Atlas of Ireland had all the roads one needs to drive around Ireland. The thicker lines indicate highways and the smaller, thinner lines indicate two way country lanes. Can you believe it? Also there are lakes and rivers that are colored blue to make certain you don't drive into them. I recommend this soon to be classic to any one interested in driving, biking or even walking around Ireland!

I am planning a trip to Ireland where I will rent a car to tour the places I wish to visit. This promises to help navigate the country.

This atlas was absolutely useless during our trip to Ireland. It did NOT provide detailed maps of the cities, and the layout and organization was horrible! The free map we got from the Rental Car Agency was of more use than this atlas. Do NOT buy this product!

The book is a detailed breakdown of Ireland. New roads to be opened are included with expected completion dates. Area attractions are also listed. If you are looking for the small town your ancestors came from, it will be on the map. The only thing I would improve is to include a large detailed "whole" map of Ireland. Distances are given in miles and metric. I had used an edition of this on a trip to Ireland over 10 years ago and with a new trip pending, this was a book I had to get.

My husband and I recently flew to Dublin, Ireland for a wedding in the Westport area. The drive from Dublin to Westport takes 3.5 hours, and we did not get lost once, thanks to this helpful atlas. We also used this atlas to plan our side trips and found our destinations easily. The best side trip? Go to Ashford Castle in Cong, where the movie, "The Quiet Man" was filmed. Before you plan your trip to Ireland, take this Atlas with you and make sure you drive on the left side of the road.

I will first comment that I have not yet used this atlas in Ireland so I presume information to be accurate. I ordered this as an extra item to the two fold-out maps I was primarily interested in to qualify for free shipping, but will be leaving the maps behind. The scale (1:200,000 or 1" = 3.16 miles) is 2x the scale of the better of the two fold-out maps (Michelen Ireland #712). I will be using it both for driving and for reference in traveling by bus/train. At 8-1/4" x 11-5/8" x 1/4" thick it fits nicely in the outer sleeve of my backpack. I find the Michelen Ireland #712 fold-out map, while a nicely detailed map, somewhat thick and cumbersome to fold. This bound atlas handles nicely.
AA Road Atlas: Ireland (Road Atlas)Just returned from a road trip in Ireland with my girlfriends, this was invaluable, very easy to read, a must far all attempting to drive the roads in Ireland!
