This "course" did not work for me. The information was presented in a confusing manner and I ended up not using the book at all.

Its an overkill of the GMAT DS.

The book is written with extremely poor grammar and is riddled with obvious errors that meaningfully alter what they're trying to explain. The worst example of this is on pg. 122: x=1 and y=1, so (x*y) + y = 1 + 1 = 1. The rest of the example is then based off the "fact" that 1 + 1 = 1...

The organization of the book is poor as well. Strategies are taught multiple times and in multiple sections, and I personally feel that my time would have been better spent on different review books. I also used ones published by the major test prep companies and found them much more helpful.

Huge credit to the authors for creating the first Data Sufficiency book - it is a hard task and a good start but not perfect, so I can't give it more than 3 stars, and here is why:
* Only 90 pages have to do with Data Sufficiency approach and strategy. The rest of the book (300 pages) is a Math Review course, though there are DS practice questions along the way
* Not a clean easy-to-understand layout of material. The authors tried to highlight some points but it is still not easy to grasp book for a visual learner
* Overlap in material with the GMAT Math Prep Course
* Not the best explanations for questions
* Not a book for beginners

Some words in defense:
* Has hard questions and quite of them (200 questions and 200 examples are reviewed)
* Covers all areas tested on the GMAT math
* The only Data Sufficiency book out there
* Aims for higher-scoring individuals and probably is a good secondary math book (not the primary one)

At the end - I'm neutral about it. If you have trouble with DS and tried other books, you can get it, but don't expect miracles.

I bought this book, because at first glance, it looked like it would be very helpful for the Data Sufficiency part of the exam. I've finally reached my last straw with dealing with all the errors and inconsistencies in the book. One of my pet peeves is finding erros in books on difficult subjects. This one takes the cake.
At first I thought maybe there were things that I wasn't understanding thoroughly. So, I stuck with the book. Then I began to realize that it wasn't me, but the authors or editors who were at fault. Then I said to myself, "Okay, the material is pretty comprehensive so probably can be useful. I just need to accept the fact there are errors." Truthfully, I think I've had enough of this garbage. It really isn't helping me to spend gobs of time trying to figure out something that is clearly an error.

Wow, I have never seen a book, especially an educational material, with so many grammatical and spelling errors! Not to mention, that even though I am not a pro at Data Sufficiency (hence, buying the book), I believe about 10% of the examples in it have wrong solutions! Yes, it does give you practice, and it's the only book out there that focuses entirely on Data Sufficiency, but it is still a big waste of time and money!
