If you want to introduce a young reader to the assassination of the 25th president, this is the book. It covers the basics and would make a reader, of any age who might feel the urge to do so, delve further. I like the entire series for that reason.

This is one book series that anyone would be happy to be left out of since it focuses on the assassinations of political leaders. My daughter and I have recently been reading about William McKinley’s time in office and it was surprising how little information was included about his murder Leon Czolgosz. When we studied Lincoln and Garfield several of our sources included facts about Booth and Guiteau, but Czolgosz was barely mentioned. I’m sure there are several novels written for adults that further expound on Czolgosz and McKinley’s assassination. However, this is the only one that I could find at an elementary or junior high school level; Antoine Wilson did a nice job presenting the information in a clear way for this audience.
