This reader, like others by Mr. LaFleur, is excellent. As an adult graduate student, I have used this book to stay sharp and exercise my skills, and it has worked very well because of the broad vocabulary and relatively quick reading. Easily moves at a steady pace for students of moderate skill (would be great for a high school Latin IV or literature class). 2 people found this helpful.

Love and Transformation book. The folks who are in charge of what young people read will shelve once and for all the politically correct books written by second rate authors, and those age old poets whose works are worthy of deep and intimate study will be restored.

Perhaps way too many notes underscoring all the literary style that Ovid uses in the Metamorphoses, but this reader is a great read for those in their 2nd year of Latin and wanting to read some interesting poetry.

The notes themselves are very thorough. Everybody in the class loved this book. There's also a poem in the introduction that I quite like.
