Classic Eric Cole. Well written and comprehensive. Not the do-all end-all of network security, but it sets the stage for further study for someone seeking internet security as a profession.

Great book. Recommend for anyone interested in the InfoSec field. Dr. Eric Cole is the Jimmy Page of SANS instructors, this guy knows his s***, period. Definitely a must have for the InfoSec book collection.

I bought this as a companion text for the SANS 401 Security Essentials class. This is much of the same material presented and organized in one, complete text.

From what I've read so far, it seems pretty cut and dry, not a lot of fluff, but detail instead, which pleases me. LOL.
It's a good source.

The content and overall presentation are just as I had planned. I bought it how a source of reference and information.

Topics are very vague......teaches you nothing. wish I would have listen to every one else on this topic. sucks..... yes
Extremely well structured book. A reference anyone should have indeed if you are a honnete homme with some interest in your times. Of course, professionals and want-to-be will find good data and explanation. The technological aspects could start earlier in the book. But frankly this is not easy to make such a book and the outcome is a masterpiece.
