This (like the other TRs) is essentially a catalog for the miniatures line. Once you've baked the BattleSpace rules into a spreadsheet, you can crank out a few dozen spaceships in about 20 minutes. Add some cheap and cheesy black and white vector art, and a few dozen paragraphs of (mediocre) text, and you have your supplement.

I'm not a fan of BattleSpace to begin with, but putting all that aside, my review is based on the assumption that A) you play BattleSpace, and/or B) you like Tech Readouts. So given all that, this is one is pretty ok. You will certainly find the rule clarifications and updates helpful.

It "upgrades" the existing published designs to follow the BattleSpace construction rules. The tweaks involved were fairly minor: mostly shuffling around the weapons and adding/subtracting a few Armor Points. Not worth it, frankly. If you're going to ruin your system to preserve backward compatibility, why update them?

The new ships are useful if you play BattleSpace and want Official Stats to go with your minis. They are a big improvement over the unplayable example ships in the BattleSpace box set, but they still aren't very good. Nobody seems to have thought about how most of the ships would be used in practice. The fluff about each design's role seems to have been tacked on after the fact.

The bottom line is that if you're going to play BattleSpace, you really need this supplement. But you shouldn't be playing it in the first place.

The realm of Dropships and Warships has been realitively untouched. It provides a history of the Star League Navy with the ship discriptions as well as a glimpse of what sort of Naval firepower the Inner Shpere and the Clans are/will fielding. A must have for any BT fan.

THe warship art was horrible the original 2750 book warship art was alot better but the rest of the book was good well except the aerospace fighters since it gave only basic stats on them. We now need an aeorspace technical readout.

This TR is the best place to get designs for your BattleTech campaigns outside of creating your own designs.

while the warships in this TR are cool, the dropship info is great, it lets you use ones other then leapords, unions, and overlords same goes for jump ships this really adds depth to large scale action
