Faldo was one of the best golfers of the day, as supported by his six Major Championship victories. Like Faldo, I too sought to revamp my golf swing, wanting to create a swing that I could repeat easily and without extensive practice once it was in place. Hey, let's be realistic...time is a commodity that is in scarce supply today! Average amateur golfers can't spend hours on end at the driving range or on the course. A Swing For Life is still one of my favorite books for helping the average golfer do just that, build a repeatable swing that will stay with that golfer for years and years. Faldo has a solid, easy, descriptive style to explaining his swing and how it was created. He gives clear and concise instruction on how others can do the same with their swings. So, as with many golf instruction books that are relegated to the dusty shelves of the library - primarily by new equipment technology that makes us change our swings to suit that technological achievement, Faldo's instruction may succomb to the same. However, that is not today, nor will it be in the near future. This is one book that is still intended to teach the modern swing and is one that I will continue to keep at the ready for refreshers and for my own golf instruction with friends and students.

Faldo is/was a great golfer. Open champion. Hit the ball beautifully. Stood over 6 feet tall. Big, Strong. Had a good ghost author. I got the impression while reading this book that Faldo is/was a natural player. That he played so very well, but didn't really know how or why. In other words, a natural, by feel, athlete. I am not. I like more detail. I was disappointed. Faldo's book is an interesting first read, but it is not a reference I will return to.

Being a beginner (started about a month ago) playing golf, this book was very informative. It is a fun read and the drills will definitely improve your game, it did for me anyway. This is my first purchase in terms of golf instruction books so I cannot compare it with another, but with my experience with reading and learning from this book I highly recommend especially for a beginner.

It's simple exposition is refreshing in an industry that thrives on being impenetrable.
Do THIS, then THIS and you will be ON PLANE in a position to swing into the ball with lag and lean.
May I have the last 50 years back, please?
Number one golf teaching tool!!!! Step by step drills break down swing for total efficiency. I would recommend Swing for life to beginners and experienced golfers alike.
