This book was required for my academic work. I was pleasantly surprise with the quality of the material. I usually sell my academic books, or give them away after using them, but I will hold on to this one for reference. It covers everything from mental health, aging psychology, grief, child psychology, etc.

There's a summary and a self-assessment questionnaire at the end of each chapter that will give you more insights into your own world and why you behave the way you do. It's also very realistic in its approaches. A Great book indeed.

This is indeed what a college textbook should be like, useful, well written, and clear. I just wish the rest of my textbooks were as good as this one!

Okay, so I didn't read this book yet, but the last comment posted made me all the more likely to adopt it to use in the classroom. Christianity and humanism are not polar opposites. In fact, our own personal choices are the only things we 1) can adjust to improve our lives (psychologically speaking) and 2) can offer up as a symbol of our religious devotion (religiously speaking). As soon as I get my copy of this book, I'll read it and post another review.
The material is OK, but there are many editing errors; missing words and typographical errors.
