This book featuring Debbie Ford, Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson evolved out of the movie The Shadow Effect: Illuminating the Hidden Power of Your True Self that recently brought the three of them together. While the movie serves as an introduction to the concepts of the shadow and how it limits us as human beings, The Shadow Effect book is a deep exploration of that which most of us have hidden and tried to contain within ourselves. Make sure reading this book is at the top of your priority list of things to do. I am reading it again so I don't miss a thing and giving to everyone I love. Author), Marianne Williamson(Author), Debbie Ford(Author) & 0 more. The shadow is a part of the unconscious mind consisting of repressed weaknesses and base instincts. The Shadow Effect is a good book which helps you think about your own actions in life, and also make you think about other situations which have happened. It is almost a piece which helps you reflect on how you have judged, reacted, and pushed through in certain situations, and how you could have improved upon them.

Deepak Chopra, Debbie Ford, and Marianne -New .

These three luminaries, each with a signature approach, bring to light the parts of ourselves we deny but that still direct our life.

The Shadow Effect book. Lastly, the opening chapter by Marianne Williamson, literally reduced me to tears. I have simply been plagued my whole life with my inability to reconcile mankind's ability to wreak such intense pain and suffering on each other, which is in such diabolical contrast to the extreme beauty and kindness I also know we have the capacity to be.

I gave this DVD two stars because i was disappointed in the lack of real content presented in the video. It was more like ‘the why’ we need emotional healing but without any strategies on ‘how to’ find it. It seemed more like a general outline of the so-called ‘shadow effect’ we all feel in our lives re: fear, shame and regret we’ve experienced but it gave no real specific ways to attain freedom from those things. Also, I felt like the presentation was geared more for people who have suffered traumatic loss or events in their lives such as a holocaust victim or victims of abuse. Maybe for some people it would be therapeutic but for myself it was not what I expected.

I've enjoyed "The shadow effect-BOOK kindle edition", & definitely would recommend it to anyone on their path journey to embrace positive thinking, self-help, New Thought, or simply put "non-denominational Spirituality".
I love the Judeo-christian divine teachings mingled with the wisdom of Easter philosophies, with a skillful "New Thought" touch so masterful, and so eloquently done by three of the most inspiring gurus of our time. Bravo!.
D Chopra M.D., with his soft spoken style invites us to join Jesus & Buddha to practice the forgiveness of others and to forgive ourselves as well, to end the "Us vs them mindset" and through meditation experience the blissful benefits of pure consciousness devoid of the egotistical mindset, and therefore free of the Shadow influences.
Debbie Ford invoke us to stop projecting the secretive aspects of our lifes onto others, to embrace every quality in ourselves to finally see people with empathy and compassion in brotherhood. And shared her most inner intimate life changing moments where she found that what at first seems to be some negatives aspects of ourselves, can in fact be use for good (meeting deadlines in the business world, being tough on contractors to get the job done, to speakup against tyrants, oppressors, & injustice for example) and coined them "The light shadow" or our good attributes endowed upon us by the creator.
And with M. Williamson inspired by "A Course in Miracles" (A.C.I.M) dreamed of a beautiful place where "Heaven and Earth " should pass away because they be as one and the same.
Their message is to overcome this world or plain of illusionary existence, by surrendering our ego minded life, and fullfiling it by knowing that we're part of a universal greater self "GOD-LOVE, Heaven, Nirvana" which has always been our truthful state of existence.
The Ego, which is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity, can finally be make aware of its true existence which is divine, and always as been ONE...& which its solely purpose it is to LOVE...to shine divine light into darkness as Jesus, Buddah, & dozens of others have done so throughout human history.
This book main point it's for us to embrace our "whole self" to make peace with our humanity & divinity until the day that we achieve as a collective humanity a total divine transformation instead of our current dystopian world full with injustices due to the idle inaction of the many (most of us).
The shadow qualities are tools to break free oppression or abuse in domestics, social or international levels...on quote; ..."We need the combination of every hurt, loss, and unfulfilled desires blended with every joy, success and blessings to give us the wisdom, the perspective, and the drive to step into the most magnificent expression of ourselves."

The Ego`s game over it's here in the Shadow effect.
I've truthly enjoyed this book. Pls read it.

The Shadow Effect is a good book which helps you think about your own actions in life, and also make you think about other situations which have happened. It is almost a piece which helps you reflect on how you have judged, reacted, and pushed through in certain situations, and how you could have improved upon them. I liked the book when it analyzed and broke down specific examples, and helped you decide which alternative actions can be taken to resolve the situation. It also talked about how being quick to judge, may keep you from seeing the larger picture. Overall, the books content was good, but towards the end, the last author was incredibly preachy. The last 25% of the book was OK, but could have brought in more life examples and views on the situations about your shadow instead of preaching God’s love every other sentence. I honestly have nothing against this, but the book is about the dark shadow people have and how to recognize it, and alternative ways to have it work for you instead of against you. I understood what he was saying, but it became rather repetitive. Overall, I would like to give the book more than three stars, but because it diverted back and forth between alternative thinking, and preachy word at the end turned it from an interesting read to a struggle to finish. Overall I recommend reading it once, if not to just read the first two parts at least.

I got a lot out of Deepak's section at the beginning, but what really drew me in and taught me the most was Debbie Ford's section in the middle. Debbie Ford is funny, insightful, and right-on about human nature. There is a sense of freedom you get, recognizing that when you own your dark side, instead of repressing it and projecting it onto others, not only do you become more self-realized, but you see more inherent goodness outside yourself, in the world. This helps us re-connect with others, especially if you're the type who can sometimes feel righteous indignation or moral superiority.

I used to be a self-righteous activist, who was constantly projecting my own negativity on others. Using the insights in this book, I've been able to evolve into a more conscious, compassionate person. I'm still a force for change in the world, without all the struggle, overwhelm and negativity. Very highly recommended!
