From recurring dreams to daydreams, from dreams that comfort to dreams that force us to confront our deepest fears, Sylvia Browne's Book of Dreams illuminates the path between our conscious and unconscious minds and shows why our dreams are among the most important and misunderstood connections we have with portals to The Other Side. This book is meatier than most of Sylvia Browne's books (she tends to repeat stories over and over in every book). She discusses several types of dreams - prophetic, release, and wish dreams. She also discusses what are the phenomenons of astral visits (you mean, I can travel to London, England every night?) and astral catalepsy (is that why I wake up but my leg's still asleep?).

The exact type of book I was looking for that I couldn't find! It's not a dream dictionary primarily (although it does have a section dedicated to that) it describes the different TYPES of psychic dreams and dreams in general, how to distinguish them, and how to pull your PERSONAL meaning out vs. a dream dictionary that tells you a symbol has to have the same meaning for everyone.

You know this book makes you think back about every dream you can remember having lately or even some that have been very memorable and if you can just try to not guess at every dream you have had by what the 5 dream states mean in here you may be able to answer a few questions. Now i myself have had many dreams that i thought were wish dreams and then realized after examing the book that i think were probably release dreams or maybe something else. I know that this book will not give me all the answers so if that is what you are looking for don't read it. It just helps you to go deeper inside yourself and gives you little things to do to help you if your really interested in delving deeper into this dream thing. It is totally up to each individual. If your not the type to really believe in how dreams can give you answers to your problems or be a part of that other world then don't bother buying a copy. For those of you who are new to this then it is the perfect book. She simplifies and breaks things down for you to understand your dreams and believe me i have been into this Sylvia browne thing for a while but i can't even begin to try to understand my own self and my dreams so this book has been a great teaching tool for me. Made me realize how i have been taking alot of my dreams for granted and maybe, just maybe now i can have some great adventures...

My mom loves reading anything from Sylvia Browne. Though she doesn't believe in everything she said. She's a fan still. helped my mom with her grief after losing her most beloved African Grey. My mom really liked this one.

While most dream books focus on the symbolism within the dreams, Sylvia focuses more on the different types of dreams, offering a fresh perspective on dream analysis. According to Ms. Browne, there are five different types of dreams. Release, Wish, Information, Prophetic, and Astral Travel. Within each section, she not only explains what the category means, but also provides examples for them. One of the last chapters of the book contains examples of various dreams submitted by readers, some a combination of two or more categories.

While there are tons of books on dream symbolism, this is the first book I've come across that actually helps you to categorize the dream. Since dreams are mostly symbolic in nature and very personal, thereby, a bit cryptic, being able to categorize the dream first is a BIG help in deciphering it.

I strongly recommend this book as part of further studies in dream analysis, including Carl Jung's 'Man and His Symbols'

I will make this fast. This was my first Sylvia Browne Book and it had me hooked. I was excited every chance that i got to read it. It opened a few things up about dreams that i've had for years and some i've had as a child. She does not give you direct interpretation of every thing you dream but makes you find your own meaning after all we are all different. Boy some things that she stated hit me pretty hard, how i could have missed that myself. It really helped me see what my mind was telling me subconsciously in my dreams ~ and what i need to do to fix that. Now when people ask me what their dreams mean it's still hard to interpret them but it has become somewhat easier.

Love Sylvia Brown & her no-nonsense way of explaining things. Enjoying the book so far! Blessings to you Sylvia up in heaven!

Now this is a dream book unlike any of the other "interp" books out there. It's very simple yet thorough, because there ARE only a few basic types of dreams, and the interpretation specs here make total sense.

Having said that, Sylvia's other books are rather odd, parties-in-heaven? I think not Sylvia!, belligerent, egotistical, unbelievable. They are, however, highly entertaining. Take them with a huge grain of salt.

But this book is a winner; she definitely has insight into the dreamstate. Buy it!
Enjoy reading it
