What a fun Regency! The plot was refreshing and not a bit forced. The comic relief was properly tongue-in-cheek but not over-the-top. A wonderful light comedy that refused to descend completely into farce. Recommended for all Regency Romance lovers.

I liked Toplofty Lord Thorpe and Beleaguered Lord Bourne so much, I had to try Ruthless Lord Rule. Fortunately, Julian and Lucy, Kit and Jennie appear in this love story of Tristan Rule and Mary Lawrence.

It's a romp, nothing too taxing for your brain and shows the couple getting to know one another. Funny in that the H&H don't recognize infatuation/love for what it is but rather, attribute the feelings of annoyance to the blossoming tendres they share.

Best part of the book, however, has to be Mary's coded poem, read by Sir Henry to Tristan Rule. [sic] At deduction he's top of his class...while quite closely resembling an ass. another favorite is [sic] Too late he recognizes her gambit. He's been chasing his tail for she's laid a false trail; Rues he hotly: 'She's best me, dammit.'

Fun and entertaining...Good character development and interesting story, if predictable. It could have included more detail of the ton going ons, but overall enjoyable.

Kasey Michaels is one of my favorite authors. I enjoy reading series stories and look forward to the next group of stories.

Michaels does it again with this funny Regency. I should send Kindle a thank you note for adding these older short novel from the very talented Ms Michaels.

This book was originally released under the pseudonym of Michelle Kasey. It has strong ties to The Toplofty Lord Thorpe and The Beleaguered Lord Bourne, taking place after those books. As is typical of the author's early Regencies, this is a frothy Regency with passionate kisses forming the limit of sexual tension. As it is a romance, the question is not if the main characters will fall in love, but how they accomplish that by overcoming obstacles.

I loved the mystery in this book and the slow realization of Tristan that Mary was worth loving, in spite of her mysterious past. Mary comes to know what true love means. A couple of loose ends get wrapped up in this book (no more, spoilers!).

If you like traditional Regencies, this should be on your list to read.
