Yes, the cover is hot, hot, hot, but don't let the eye-candy fool you into thinking Dr. Tall, Dark & Dangerous is merely another quirky little love story. Lynne Marshall gives nurse practitioner Kasey McGowan and Dr. Jared Finch substantial issues and personal challenges to face on the road to happily ever after. These characters are noble and flawed, which makes them extremely engaging. The story unfolds with a pitch-perfect balance of humor, tension, drama and passion. I found myself rooting for these two as they made a riveting emotional journey -- wrong turns and all.

Dr. Tall, Dark & Dangerous is more than just a pretty face. Enjoy!

Jared is not the typical young rich doctor hero. He is hardly likable when he first appears in the book but Kasey comes to respect Jared through his interactions with patients and his children. Kasey is a very warm and capable heroine. Both leads face serious problems but they deal with their issues and each other in honest and mature fashion.

The author does a good job developing the characters and their love story against the backdrop of a Boston community medical clinic. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and wish it were longer. The last scenes before the epilogue are especially lovely.

A wide range of emotions are conveyed in DR. TALL, DARK...AND DANGEROUS?, as feelings run the gamut from highly blissful to deepest sorrow. There is never a single scene that does not have a profound effect on the reader, and Lynne Marshall makes each moment completely believable with genuine responses.

Although Kasey McGowan has not had good luck when it comes to developing a lasting relationship with someone, the nurse practitioner is exceedingly successful when it pertains to the running of a local community clinic in Boston. Since she recently received some discouraging news about her birth father, she is even less interested in searching for a special man in her life. When a case at the medical clinic needs the expertise of a practiced plastic surgeon, Kasey makes a call to a nearby hospital and a doctor she has never met is sent.

While Dr. Jared Finch is very proficient plus good-looking, his surly personality makes her see him as somewhat unapproachable at first. As they become involved in other shared cases, Kasey comes to realize there is much more to Jared than first believed. With her future uncertain, she begins to contemplate taking a chance on another man and enjoying the present.

Lynne Marshall masters the medical romance genre. There are numerous personal dilemmas for the main couple in DR. TALL, DARK...AND DANGEROUS?, while several tricky health problems related to their patients also challenge their lives from time to time. Jared is trying to be a good father but being divorced is making some decisions rather frustrating. His career choice also plays a big factor in the direction his life will take. The unexpected piece of information Kasey has just learned revises her outlook of the future, while she still has to take care of the various needs of those individuals who seek help at the clinic. This story concerns real life obstacles and how different people react to these hurdles. I definitely became caught up in the welfare of the main couple plus numerous likable characters, and a few situations left me feeling their confusion and wanting to give them a big hug. The long-range dreams of Jared and Kasey moved me, too, because attaining them is often filled with much doubt. Ms. Marshall skillfully depicts the most private beliefs of these two with thorough convincingness, as their every feeling is either spoken aloud or silently thought with realism. When it comes to sex between Jared and Kasey, they are enthusiastic yet caring and each intimate encounter is fierily portrayed. The medical aspects in the story are described in terms that I fully understood, and I frequently sympathized with what a character is going through. Also, I just love the cover and want to keep the book where I can look at it over and over again! DR. TALL, DARK...AND DANGEROUS?, is dramatically notable with stirring emotions, lifelike characters and realistic circumstances.

Kasey McGowan is a lovely, hugely competent NP (Nurse Practitioner) and head of a community clinic in a low-income Boston community. She's also just found out bad news about her impregnate-and-leave-'em father. He's dead. Of Huntington's disease, a progressive, degenerative neurological condition that is passed down - 50% of the time - to offspring of a carrier parent.

Surgeon Jared Finch is working on getting his credentials in plastic surgery, and assigned to be "on call" at Kasey's clinic. His initial impulse is to cram the required volunteer hours in as fast as possible, so he can move on to making money he desperately leaves, after a bitter divorce and expensive boarding schools for his kids in the Boston area has cleaned him out.

Really liked that these are both adults, that they decide to go for a fling (with condoms, thank you!) and it develops into something a whole lot deeper. It was refreshing that Kasey actually shared her potential diagnosis and worry about the same with Jared from the very beginning, instead of holding it back as some authors might have done, for a Big Reveal at the end.

The writing is a little mechanical in parts, cliche-ridden, "Dr. Tall, Dark and Gorgeous," the steadfast gay best friend, for example. On the other hand, the shifts of POV - from Kasey's to Jared's, or vice-versa - are among both the smoothest and the clearest I've ever read. And I was really hanging on at the end to find out if Kasey did have Huntington's, and hoping/praying either she didn't, or they'd find a way for a HEA (Happily Ever After) after all. Spoiler: they do.

Dr Tall, Dark...And Dangerous? is a compelling story of hope and second chances.

She comes with baggage, he's got a whole baggage carousel--and giving in to their attraction risks everything. But the desire is oh so tempting

Kasey McGowen is a nurse practitioner who runs a small community Clinic; Jared is a resident plastic surgeon who is often called upon to assist Kasey's patients.

When Kasey and Jared meet they are at crossroads in their life, Kasey just having learnt that her biological father died of Huntington's decease and Jared coming off a bitter divorce. Given the circumstances neither is looking for anything permanent but destiny has other ideas for them.

Dr Tall, Dark...And Dangerous? is really well written and no surprises there coming from the very talented Lynne Marshall, this story will put you through the emotional ringer but leave you feeling pleasantly satisfied! A book you definitely want to read.
