You're a strange little creature," he said. I'm not little," she returned

You're a strange little creature," he said. I'm not little," she returned. Dutch tried not to laugh at the horrified expression on. her face as he gathered the books quickly together and threw them into her seat, then herded her out of the aisle, "Oh, Lord," she moaned, looking as if fate and the Almighty were out to get her. "Most travelers carry a spare bag inside their suitcases," he said hopefully as the other passengers filed out She looked up at him helplessly, all big gray eyes and shy pleading, and for an instant he actually forgot what he was saying.

The hands holding her clenched, and he rocked with her, smooth, tender movements that were exquisitely soft. He whispered to her in Dutch, words that she couldn’t understand, but they were breathlessly tender. She kissed his tanned cheek, his mouth, his chin, and he lifted his head for an instant, his dark eyes glazed, his lips parted.

She'd met Eric Van Meer entirely by chance during an unforgettable vacation in Mexico, and with reckless abandon, she'd agreed to marry the mysterious blond stranger. Dani St. Clair, prim southern bookseller, had experienced a passion that exceeded even those in her cherished romantic novels—until a hijacked plane and a daring rescue by Eric revealed his true nature and dangerous work. He said he needed freedom, yet he'd married her.

She’d changed her plans so she could be with Dutch for his whole vacation, but at the end of the week he told her that he had a job waiting and couldn’t spare any more time. She stared at him across. the room as he got his own clothing together, wondering how dangerous his line of work was. A soldier, he’d said. Did that mean he was in the reserves? Probably, she told herself. That was why he wouldn’t mind moving to Greenville. She’d thought about that a lot, about picking up stakes and moving to Chicago

This second book in the series is amazing and doesn't leave you hanging. It is a story unto itself but it does bring in the characters from the first book so you know how everything plays out from the very beginning. If your a fan of Diana Palmer, you'll love it! If you haven't read anything by her yet (not possible if you follow this genre at all), get this one along with the other two that are the beginning of this series (Soldier of Fortune - 1st and Enamored - 3rd). They may have been written awhile ago but they are still very good reads.

I really enjoyed this book. It was full of action and adventure with only a tad bit of violence. I knew the happy ending would come but it seemed to be almost too late.

Another one of Diana Palmer's best books. This man is such a sweetheart. All women could wish to meet a man like this and take them through the road to love and intimacy. Men should definitely read this book if they would like not fumble around trying to love a woman and have her love you back. There are certainly the right buttons to push at the right time so men, get reading.

Sweet romance about a mercenary and a small town bookstore owner. She knew him
only for a few days and they got married but he hadn't told her what he did for a living.
They had a few problems along the way but they overcame them.

As always, Ms. Palmer spins a great story. Fast read. Great characters. Good situations. I enjoyed the book very much. I would highly recommend it. Phyllis
This is one that has stood the test of time. A simple love story it has everything from that first meeting of a very unlikely pair to the HEA ending. It is part of collection of stories around a group of mercenaries written by the author.
