I could gush about these novels, but then I would be doing them an injustice. I love many things about the Love Inspired novels, or perhaps better said novellas, and I love it when the author has numerous in a series. I admire how any author can pare down the words of their story to fit the criteria of this romance line, because it can not be easy. Each word needs to count as they are limited to a certain amount of words . And yet, the ones I have read always have that depth to the characters and a richness to the locality that makes a novel a joy to read, short enough to make it an easier read, easy to take to the appointment, but long enough to make a good, enjoyable story`.
Once again I have had the privilege to read Shannon's novels and review them. These were the first books my Mom picked up after her major surgery this summer, and finished. I love the way these books continue on from the first book - Rodeo Dust, the story of Rayna to the last one, Rodeo Ashes, the story of Lacie. Each one compliments the other, and if you do read them in order, you learn more about each of the main characters. However, reading them this way is not a necessity to enjoying them. Each one is a stand-alone novel, complete in itself.
I have gone to the local rodeo which features pro-bull riding, and the scenes described in these books are what I saw there. Lots of action both places, with adrenaline at a high. Be inspired as each character overcomes their fears, and learns to trust God in their circumstance. Grow with them from insecure to being comfortable in their own skin.
I am a teenager and so I tend to read quite a bit of romance. I LOVED this book! It was so good to read a romance book where the main character's strength comes from God. The author gives the needed amount of romance without going into too much detail. This book is very inspiring and makes me want to wait and let God lead me on my own path to finding my cowboy.
