When I took my first PCDM case, I was naive about what I could accomplish. Instantly bombarded with chaos, I went quickly into crisis management mode and found it nearly impossible to get out of. Co-parents in high-conflict constantly recycle their anger, bitterness, and betrayal; keeping it fresh and easily accessible. They hold fast to agendas that are fueled by distorted mindsets, unrealistic expectations, and unfounded assumptions. My client-centered, strengths-based and solution-focused approach; so useful as a therapist, was no match at this stage of the PCDM process. Boyan's thoughtfully written book helped me through that initial challenge and continues to inform my practice. I was able to organize and structure my PCDM process in a way that helped me become much more effective in my PCDM role. It remains a valuable resource as each case brings with it something strange, new, and different.

I disagree completely with the basis of this book. Other books that women who are encountering difficulty in their divorces/custody disputes would be: Mothers On Trial by Phyllis Chesler; and Madness to Mutiny by Neuestein and Lesher.

AFCC got grant funds in place along with father's rights organizations -- back in the 80s, in 1996 they got the funds expanded to mandatory state block grants. Then Obama's admin expanded them further.

In Texas five courts get grant funds directly. And guess who the money handlers are? AFCC officers.
