This included a survey of all Royal College EM residency PDs across Canada, as well as an evaluative assessment of baseline QIPS knowledge of 30 EM residents at the University of Toronto (UT). The resident evaluation was done using the validated Revised QI Knowledge Application Tool (QIKAT-R), which evaluates an individual’s ability to decipher a systematic quality problem from short clinical scenarios and to propose change initiatives for improvement.

Book arrived in good condition and within delivery dates stated. It's a compact book, but jammed with the type of information I needed. As a graduate student in a creative writing MFA program, it was interesting to read about other student and teachers-in-training, and their approach to pedagogy issues. Each essay is short and to the point. A great read for anyone interested in entering the teaching profession.

I just finished my first semester of graduate school, and during it, I spent a lot of time in classes focused on teaching composition in college. The classes were largely focused on theory and were fairly helpful. However, the most valuable experience of the semester was reading this book (as a supplement to the actual classwork). These tales really helped to make the theory I was reading more relevant.

The basic premise of the book is that there is a lot of knowledge to be found in the stories surrounding the teaching of college composition, and these stories are largely ignored by teachers and theorists of composition pedagogy. Comp Tales is simply a collection of these largely unedited stories from which the reader may garner what knowledge he or she may. These short stories themselves are often insightful, often humorous, and often heart-breaking. This is an excellent introduction to the adventure that teaching will be.

This was an assigned text for graduate teaching assistants our first semester teaching college writing. Reading these stories helps you feel like part of a group and gives you a heads up on some issues in a less intimidating way than just reading scholarly articles.
