But rather than leaving the player with boxes of numbers, O'Ekaki ends with a flourish: a fun piece of art that seems to magically appear when you've correctly darkened the final square grid. And each puzzle's title is an amusing clue to the picture that will ultimately emerge  .

This is by far one of the best pixel puzzles books out there. I can only wish that he would publish monthly instead of annually! The grids are mostly no larger than 30 X 30, with many, many in the 25 X 25 range, and just a few challengers bigger than 30 X 30. The grading of the puzzles from 1-5 are fairly accurate, so you can choose what level you feel like working at and have fun with it. Like all pixels, the smaller puzzles leave a little to be desired in the quality of the picture, but that's to be expected. The larger puzzles turn out pretty nice to beautiful in some cases, and the ones in between are pretty fair representations of some object, not too busy (like the Griddlers).

The only reason I took off one star is for the quality of the paper. It's not as bad as those terrible Griddlers, but it does have some problems. Fortunately, it erases fairly easily, but it also absorbs moisture from the air very easily, so ONLY use this as an indoor book (not recommended for taking to the beach or camping!)

Ok but doesn't compare to the Paint-Doku book by Conceptis, which has better paper and more recognizable pictures. However these are a good option if you like smaller size puzzles with bigger squares. But sometimes I solve a puzzle and have no idea what it is supposed to be.

After getting addicted to pixel puzzles, I ordered O'Ekaki Heaven to begin with and really enjoyed it. Even before finishing the first book, I ordered this one as I like the larger puzzles (the pictures are much more detailed). I typically tear out the pages because it is just easier that way- but as other reviewers have said, it would be better if it was spiral bound. My only 'complaint'- which really isn't a complaint, but more a preference, is that I would prefer more large puzzles to complete. Even so, these books provide hundreds (that is not an exaggeration) of hours of enjoyment!

I've been doing pixel puzzles for a while. So I figured the smaller puzzles would be a cinch. But some of these are very challenging. I use logic and don't rely on the hints. But they are fun to read.

This book would still be good for beginners because of the easy-to-read directions and smaller puzzle format.

Minus one star for the terrible paper. I use pencil and my hands get black and the picture smears. Also for the discomfort because the book is too small to comfortably hold folded. A spiral bound book would definitely keep me coming back for more.

My wife and I recently got into Picross, and she really enjoys this book. It's got some easy ones, all the way up to very difficult. It's kind of fun to play with this book instead of just on our 3DS systems, something about playing it physically is very satisfying. Highly recommended for Picross fans!

I got addicted to these type of puzzles when I download a game of them for my Amazon Kindle. I finished those and wanted more, so I ordered this book. I like that this has larger size puzzles because it makes them more challenging. There are also smaller, less time-consuming puzzles when you want a quick fix. I find the paper used in this book to be adequate to the task. Also contains a good amount of puzzles, so it will keep you busy for a while. I'm glad Amazon carries these, because I couldn't find any such books in my area.
