Changed my whole approach to teaching. No longer were my students forced to listen to me. I was listening to them. Halfway through the year, I began to write my own journal prompts. My students changed. They were actually able to produce words on the page. Eventually, we created a book based on excerpts from the students' journals. Read this book.
