It is a good map but I really liked the Nat Geo map better. Both of them lack detail. I am a little surprised there are not better maps out there for Whiney given how many people use the trail. I guess GPS is taking over. I just like to have a physical map back up. Paranoid?? Maybe. Enjoy the hike and this map will be just fine but not great. Ignore those that say you can't have fun doing it in a day. My 54 yo wife had never climbed a mountain and did just fine. She loved it and wants more. Her prep was walking on flat Ohio land about 4 miles per day.

If you're looking for a detailed map of Mt Whitney trails, this isn't it. It does cover a large area surrounding the peak, but not alot of detail from the Whitney portal trailhead itself. The map's waterproof feature is nice, but make sure you know what you're ordering. I can get by on this by using compass coordinates, but I am already familiar with the trail.
Malaunitly
the map is small compared to others from the same company

Its a decent map. Not a green trails level of detail but a good overall map. Like the waterproof paper.
Maveri
Perfect map, on it were no instructions on how to get my 71 yr old body to the top. Oh Well, guess I am on my own now.
Rainbearer
only depicts western approach, useless if you're coming in from the east (Lone Pine side).
Blackseeker
ok, small printing fonts
It was helpful in planning our summit of Mt Whitney
