It is a comprehensive textbook for both the surgical student and trainee, guiding the reader through key core surgical topics which are encountered throughout an integrated medical curriculum as well as in subsequent clinical practice. Although sharing the same format and style as Davidson’s Principles and Practice of Medicine, this text is complete in itself, thus enabling the student to appreciate both the medical and surgical implications of diseases encountered in surgical wards.

Author/Publisher: IFSTA The 7th edition of IFSTA's Fire and Emergency Services Instructor manual provides the information necessary to meet the job performance requirements set out in NFPA® 1041, Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications (2007) for Levels I, II, and III. Rewritten and reorganized from previous editions, the 7th edition is intended to meet two different needs: First, it provides the information separately, which is necessary to teach courses for each level. By combining the information found in Part A with the appropriate level-specific information in one of the other parts, a training division or agency can develop a certification program suited to their needs. Second, the manual acts as a general reference for current instructors who may be required to perform duties outside their current certification level. Officers and personnel of fire and emergency services organizations often face potentially life-threatening conditions and must react to those conditions quickly, effectively, and safely. The safety of these personnel and the citizens who rely on them depends on the quality of training and instruction that they receive through their organizations. 674 pages.

As with all IFSTA books, this one has some good information. Especially if you are absolutely clueless. If you have some knowledge or experience it makes it even tougher to read and study. Go through and pick out the good stuff but don't read it word for word. Aways too much fluff, too many words, and all of it could be said in way less pages. If you have to read it they you do what you got to do, but if you don't have to read it, don't waste your time.
