Dinesh D’Souza has had a twenty-five-year career as a writer, scholar, and public intellectual. A former policy analyst in the Reagan White House, D’Souza also served as John M. Olin Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and the Robert and Karen Rishwain Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He exposes the entire operation as being a cheap quota program where the unqualified are admitted into Ivy League universities simply because of their race or sex.

Dinesh D’Souza argues that by charging universities with being structurally racist, sexist, and class-biased, a coalition of student activists, junior faculty, and compliant administrators have imposed their own political ideals on admissions, hiring, curriculum, and even personal conduct.

This time it is the politics of race and sex that has sparked a wave of bitter confrontations. D'Souza's first book, Lliberal Education was published in 1991. Some of these disputes have made national headlines; many more go unreported. D'Souza's title's, Hilary's America and Death of a Nation, made the New York Times Bestseller List. Dinesh D'Souza discovers in this firsthand investigation of today's campuses that the universities with the strongest multicultural agendas are the ones reporting the greatest number of racially charged incidents. D'Souza argues that the programs designed to foster racial harmony instead promote intolerance and have split American universities on moral grounds and destroyed the right to liberal learning. Is "Political Correctness" chilling freedom of thought and speech on American campuses today? Is multicultural activism splitting the university on moral grounds, creating not a truly diverse community but balkanized tribal enclaves?Based on extensive research at six major universities, Illiberal Education is a hugely controversial, powerful polemic that examines the most important and divisive questions confronting American education today. Dinesh D'Souza argues that by charging universities with being "structurally" racist, sexist, and class-biased, a coalition of student activists, junior faculty, and compliant administrators have imposed their own political ideals on admissions, hiring, curriculum, and even personal conduct, while eschewing the goals of liberal education.

Jared Taylor in the classroom. Dinesh's book here is a systematic dismantling of the modern university. He exposes the entire operation as being a cheap quota program where the unqualified are admitted into Ivy League universities simply because of their race or sex. He shows us how absolutely no-one benefits from these Affirmative Action or forced diversity programs, and he reminds us of the fact that universities are the most intellectually-conforming cesspools of decay infecting our society--and he writes all this from the vantage point of over 25 years ago! He must be horrified now with what happened at Berkeley with Milo. This is an amazing book that anyone who has gone through university should read.

A must read for understanding how international Frankfurt-Trilateral Commission networks have succeeded in controlling higher education.

a University education. The author highlights the hypocrisy of University faculties in dealing with the forces that have morphed a liberal education into one with, for all intents and purposes, no content and no defined aim or goal except for the political agenda of the influential powers (moneyed contributors and government and financially powerful minority groups). In an indirect way, he shows how it is possible to spend four years at a university and emerge with almost no knowledge of the foundation of the world in which they live, whether it be in the West or elsewhere. Students are thoroughly cleansed of any notion of principles or timeless truth, leaving only personal whim and "relativism" as a paradigm for understanding their world and interacting with society.

It would be well if everyone educated at a university since the 70s were to read this and give careful consideration to its content. And don't expect any academician to approve of the book's contents; their very existence in the currently politicized university environment depends on their buying into the concepts that have made such a shift in higher education possible.

One wonders how much of a contribution of such elimination of a foundation for a world-view influences the marked increase in suicide in younger folks.

As per usual, Mr. D' Sousa is spot on with his political commentaries.
The left have taken over our universities, and woe to the student who dares to "buck" the progressive indoctrination.

Given that this book was written 25 years ago it's not at all difficult to see why the United States is having the problems it is having today, considering that most politicians are college grads with degrees in law or political science.

Collecting D'Souza works. I guess I have become a great fan. Hoping to track his scholarship and growth over the decades. Besides, he always speaks researched and documented facts, much appreciated these days.
This was a great book, well written and argued. There is nothing at all right wing, or hateful about this book. This work points out the pitfalls of political correctness. It is unfortunately all too true. The arguments made show the weakness and downright racism of affirmative action. The far left can do nothing except try to put this book down as "right wing" or "hate speech". This book really shows that there is no logic to their argument.
