Ventura concludes that none of those were twisted-loner crimes but rather resulted from conspiracies of varying vastness. Anent the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Ventura asserts that our government engaged in a massive cover-up and had ties to the hijackers. He ventures that unanswered questions remain about how the towers were brought down and whether a plane really struck the Pentagon and that the Bush Administration either knew about the plan or had a hand in it.

In this explosive account of wrongful acts and ongoing cover-ups, Jesse Ventura takes a systematic look at the wide gap between what the American government knows and what it reveals to the American people. For too long, we the people have sat by and let politicians and bureaucrats from both parties obfuscate and lie. And according to this former Navy SEAL, former pro wrestler, and former Minnesota governor, the media is complicit in these acts of deception. For too long, the mainstream press has refused to consider alternate possibilities and to ask the tough questions. Here, Ventura looks closely at the theories that have been presented over the years and separates the fact from the fiction. In Ventura's eyes, the murder of Abraham Lincoln and the assassinations of the Kennedys and Martin Luther King all need to be reexamined. Was Watergate presented honestly, or was the CIA involved? Did the Republican Party set out to purposefully steal two elections on behalf of George W. Bush? Has all the evidence been presented about the 9/11 attacks, or is there another angle that the media is afraid to explore? And finally, is the collapse of today's financial order and the bailout plan by the Federal Reserve the widest-reaching conspiracy ever perpetrated?

While many of the conspiracies written about in the book are more or less public knowledge, some aren't. Which is why I would recommend this book to anyone who is starting to understand that our government lies to us, and often.

I have read a number of bad reviews of this book, both here and on other websites. And I think that is in large part due to how unwilling some are to accept the fact that their government actually lies to them. If even one of the conspiracies mentioned in this book is true, then why can't others be?

This is a book for people who are free thinkers, certainly, but I would urge anybody to read it. The chapter on 9/11 is certainly eye opening.

Ventura and Russell include quite a number of footnotes documenting where they got their evidence, too.

All in all it makes for a good read. I skipped around the chapters in my first read through, and you will likely do the same.

This guy is one of the only honest politicians America has ever produced. Who could have believed that but it's true. This guy is a patriot and a rare American and a wonderful human and a real man. That's why he's so hated by the opposition on both sides of the fence. Read and learn. Five stars.

I like the way this guy writes. Jesse Ventura lays the evidence out and has the critical thinking skills to come up with logical answers. I find him right on the money every time. Good research and excellent analysis leads to likely scenarios by Jesse. He writes like he is talking to you and you can hear his voice saying the words. He does not use fancy language or try to impress anyone with a lot of hyperbole -- straight and to the point. I like the way he titles his conclusions, "My Take," and follows with direct statements.
Jesse goes through each so-called "conspiracy" and illuminates the real facts. In every case there is sound evidence to show that there are powerful forces working against the American people. Excellent read.

This is a very illuminating book. It's clear that the research was thorough, and each chapter gave me a lot to think about. It's too bad that Jesse's voice seems to be a lone one in the wilderness. Everyone should read this book.
Not-the-Same
I have not read every word of this new Ventura venture but once again I have been enlightened, outraged, maybe even embarrassed here and there by all the detail implying that I too "drank the kool-aid", as I sat half-awake on my couch, (albeit after a long, miserable day at work, when work was to be found), and let thye Fair and Balanced station hypnotize me into submission.

My recommendation therefore is based upon my skimming of those chapters I find the most intersting at this time: THE KENNEDY ASSASSINATION: THE BIGGEST COVER-UP IN MY LIFETIME; THE OCTOBER SURPRISE; WHAT REALLY HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 11?

Every Chapter starts out with a highlighted text box with The Incident, The Official Word, My Take and ends with What Should We Do Now?

The idea of a lookalike Lee Harvey Oswald is too far-fetched for me, however, although I do believe he was "fringe", off the books, rogue CIA, in a "double agent"
mode. The entire October Surprise entry is 100% ok with me. I do not dig the implication that the White House had a hand, however, tiny, in the 09-1-1 scenario.
If anything, I beleive Bush II, et. al., just let the chips fall where they may, as I surmise happened on 11-22-63. Perfect deniability and..."all for the best".

You can see that Jesse's got my brain percolating again! (retirement helps!). Go, go, go Jesse! 2016: Clinton and Ventura!!!

I admit it; I am a card-carrying conspiracist. I have encountered in various books over at least the last two decades virtually all of the material that Ventura examines in this book and all that he has written makes perfect sense to me. I admit again though, not hearing about the Manchurian Candidate theory about the assassination of Robert Kennedy and that other hugely weird event at Jonestown. The idea that joins all of these events is the simple idea that they seem so reasonable to me; that must be why I believe in conspiracies to begin with because all of these assassinations fall into the basket of ideas that say, "These so called conspiracies are simply what would happen given the amount of money floating around and given rich, powerful people who accept the premise that the end justifies the means". Once you have a believable reason for somebody doing something then it easily follows that people will act on their belief. I think Ventura does just that admirably in his dissection of the various acts in this book. Chapter 13, The Wall Street Conspiracy, is (for a non-intellectual like myself) numbingly complicated but again perfectly sensible given the extreme amounts of money involved and the strength of the American Dream whereby anybody can be more well-off than they've ever dreamed (another conspiracy-convince the population that they can strive to have it all).

Ventura explains, even complex economic issues like the Meltdown, extremely well by giving the reader much information surrounding the particular event, enough information to, at least to me, see the logic of his thesis. I repeat, I was struck by his presentation because he explained events, that lesser thinkers deride as silliness, in terms that seem so logical. Hugely evil events that, when taken in the context of the perpetrators, seem perfectly logical. They are certainly not numbingly far-fetched like many of the naysayers would have us believe.

So many pieces of the American historical puzzle fit into place perfectly after reading American Conspiracies; it is a book that draws back the establishment's curtain regarding how the American world is run in today's century and by comparison, the rest of the contemporary world.

This book covers alot. It presents it in a form of "what event took place" "the official story" "jesses take" then more info regarding said conspiracy. I loved it
