Hanuman teaches us that there is one thing that allows us to override all of our doubts and fears, and that one thing is love. Through Bhakti Yoga we cultivate this attitude so that as our fears and doubts melt away we remember our true Self. Later on with a smaller group we went to the Kashi Vishwanath temple, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I first came across the word ‘bhava’ in the book ‘Yoga and Kriya’ by Bihar School and the meaning just dropped straight into my heart. Bhava is the feeling, the sentiment, that springs up from ones own true being’. I many times thought to change it for convenience.

Raja Yoga is a book by Swami Vivekananda about "Raja Yoga", his interpretation of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras adapted for a Western audience. The book was published in July 1896. It became an instant success and was highly influential in the Western understanding of yoga.

Jnana Yoga (The Yoga of Knowledge) is a book of lectures by Swami Vivekananda as transcribed by Joseph Josiah Goodwin. The lectures were delivered mainly in New York and London. These lectures were recorded by Goodwin, a professional stenographer, who later became a disciple of Swami Vivekananda. Jnana yoga is one of the types of yoga mentioned in Hindu philosophies. Jñāna in Sanskrit means "knowledge"; the word is derived from Sanskrit jna – to know.

Bhava's creation of Deep Yoga is the result of profound personal transformation after living with terminal illness and chronic pain, an experience that gave him a passion for sharing the transformative healing power that can be unleashed and mastered through the sacred sciences of Yoga & Ayurveda. For 25 years, Bhava was a broadcast journalist, working for television stations across the country and ultimately as a foreign correspondent with network news. He lived and worked throughout the world, including Africa, South America, Asia and the Middle East.

Bhava Yoga is conveniently located just a few blocks from the hotel I stayed at in ABQ, so it was a pleasure to wake up this morning and take Michael's "Yoga Hour" class. The "Yoga Hour" classes are exactly that: just an hour long.

The inclusion of correct bhavas (attitude) when performing yoga asanas and continuing with correct bhavas even while performing your daily activities is an innovation of The Yoga Institute (TYI). The four main bhavas have a meaningful impact when we are doing our daily tasks or performing any yoga related asana, pranayama or kriyas; this is what differentiates us from the mechanical machines when they do work. The Four Bhavas are-.

This was the last disc left of Brava Yoga, a CD I fell in love with years ago -- very spiritually uplifting. I was extremely disappointed to lose the CD due to damage in our old home, so this find was a gift. Unfortunately, it doesn't play perfectly, but due to the age of the disc, not unexpected.
Russell does a rendition of a Gandhi favorite -- beautiful. Thank you very much!

Everything was excellent!!!

I listen to all types of music. One of my favorite types of sounds that Hindu or "Hindi" culture music offers is the vocal sounds that are definitely provided in this CD. The CD consists of men singing chants with mostly stringed instruments. The sound quality is excellent. It is not like some Hindu culture music that is recorded during a public ritual where you may hear other people in the background. The music is both intense and joyful. If you're one to listen to culture music for background music for yoga or dance, this would be an ideal CD. I would not recommend this for meditation as the singing might be distracting. Bhava Yoga, as described in the CD case, is the Yoga of Sound and using the voice to celebrate. This CD clearly does just that and provides joyful melodies for the listener. It is one of my top favorite CD's as it holds a modern type style to its music, therefore enjoyable to all generations.

I only have the MP3 of Shree Ma. I heard it (and subsquently discovered Russil Paul) on Pandora internet radio (such a neat thing) and knew I wanted to buy it. It starts off really interesting...in a way that made me at first not like it, but then the song opens up and sounds amazing.

The way he uses his voice, trained and refined through years of yoga and "walking the walk," is amazing. Sometimes I want to turn it up really loud; it feels like pure, powerful energy and inspires me to go deeper in sadhana.

I've been looking for inspiring and powerful "spiritual" music and come across a lot of "new age" music. There is some truly wonderful new age music, but a lot of it is too "airy" and too much "love", to the point where it feels artificial, forced, and imbalanced.

Hearing this music and the powerful voice are like the perfect antidote to all of that. There is so much raw power in these chants and mantras, and yet it is wise power, which works to empower rather than destroy or control.

As mentioned in another review, almost anything by Russill Paul is great music for the practice of yoga, especially kundalini yoga. This album is GREAT! Russill Paul's life experience as a Benedictine monk in India and his exploration of Vedic music means this isn't some new age heavenly harps thing. This is THE stuff of the Vedas and it moves inside your psyche, gently pulling out the tension and the tugs of resistance. Very, very good stuff.

This music creates enormous senses of space and dimension only to break them down into some sort of limitlessness....if one is familiar with the spiritual backgrounds, Arunachala Shiva will transport you to a place of tranquility and compassion. I can imagine Ramana Maharishi, the ashram and the flow of love as I listen to Arunachala Shiva...This is a CD I can hear infinite numbers of times and yet look forward to hearing it all over again....Russill Paul has made an pristine contribution to those who enjoy the best of music and also appreciate the keenest of philosophies...
