Baltimore, or, The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire is a 2007 illustrated novel written by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, and illustrated by Mignola.

Baltimore, or, The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire is a 2007 illustrated novel written by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, and illustrated by Mignola. It follows the quest of Lord Henry Baltimore, a British officer during World War I who inadvertently changes the course of the war, and his own life, by wounding a vampire on the battlefield. The book was expanded into a comic book series, published by Dark Horse Comics, which also publishes Mignola's Hellboy series.

This story is a combination of The Steadfast Tin Soldier by Hans Christian Anderson and just about anything by H. P. Lovecraft.

With Baltimore, Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden lay siege to the reader's imagination with a grim battalion of gothic images and a thunderous barrage of narrative artillery. This is not a novel: it's a war machine. Surrender immediately. This story is a combination of The Steadfast Tin Soldier by Hans Christian Anderson and just about anything by H. There are many direct quotes from the Anderson's book and Baltimore alludes to it regularly. The rest of the book is reminiscent of short stories written by H.

To ask other readers questions about Baltimore, or, The Steadfast Tin . Baltimore saw himself as that soldier Baltimore, in the end, was a good book. Mignola illustrates it with his yled, black and white drawings.

Baltimore saw himself as that soldier. A man who had a loving family and a loving wife when he left home to fight in the Great War, but lost everything. He is that soldier moved around a battlefield by an indifferent creator, who feels nothing for his suffering. Baltimore, in the end, was a good book.
