Diez Perros en la Tien. Counts down from "10 perros en la tienda ven a la gente pasar. Que bien nos vamos a llevar!"

Diez Perros en la Tien. Description: After ten dogs are placed in a display window This book, Ten Dogs in the Window, was such a great read! I will definitely love to have this book in my future classroom because I had so much fun reading it that I know my future students will enjoy reading it as well. Also, it incorporates counting while reading so it would be great to use in a simple math lesson counting to ten. My only negative thought is that I wish there was a Ten Cats book by the same author. Que bien nos vamos a llevar!"

We got this book from the library. It's a cute book, the illustrations are wonderful, and my 3-year-old likes matching up the people to the dogs they will take.

However, that said, the Spanish translation of the book is a little forced. The repetitive rhyme in English makes perfect sense:

__ dogs in the window for the whole wide world to see
Look! Someone is coming!
You're the perfect dog for me!

Here's the Spanish translation:

__ perros en la tienda ven a la gente pasar
Parece que alguien se acerca...
Que bien nos vamos a llevar!

That last line kind of bugs me...it doesn't really sound right and it certainly doesn't match the illustration. I won't be buying this book.

My 2-year old son absolutely loves this book. He is learning to count with it, in addition to learning the names of all types of dogs featured in the book. If you are not sure about buying it, check it out from your local library first and if it's a good fit, then buy it.

I bought this book for my 5 years old daughter. Before buying it I was allowed to read online the "first page" of the book and I took it because I thought it had many lines in each page just like the "first page" they showed me. But when I recieved the book I realized that what the review called the "first page" it was really the back cover and each page had only one sentence (In fact, each page repeated the same sentence). It was not what I was looking for.
