Jorge H. Cubillos is a native of Colombia and a P.
Jorge H. graduate in Spanish Applied Linguistics from The Pennsylvania State University. At the present time he is an Associate Professor at the University of Delaware where he Chairs the Spanish Faculty, and supervises Elementary and Intermediate Spanish instruction. He is the author of several materials for the teaching and learning of Spanish, among them Siempre adelante (textbook and CD-ROM reading assistant for Intermediate Spanish), and Mundos Hispanos (CD-ROM program for High School Spanish).

Twelve college students enrolled in a second semester French course were instructed to think aloud during the reading of text on the computer screen. Heinle and Heinle Publishers, Boston,MA. Participants read the text under one of three conditions: full glossing, limited glossing, or no glossing. In addition, a tracker was set up in the software to record the amount and type of glosses, and length of time that each was consulted.
