Are the people and places in the Gospels historical or mythological? Did Jesus do the miracles or make the claims attributed to Him or did early Christians exaggerate His life? Who is He?

This fully illustrated reference breaks biblical and early church history into eight major time periods and shows what was happening in Chinese, Indian, African, and Mayan cultures, among others. I bought this book because it was a required reading for one of my classes in school. I have found the book to be very informative and helpful in understanding the learning more about Jesus Christ and the History that went along with is life.

Dr. Waterhouse did an incredible amount of work here. Expect this book to surprise you. The popular views on the authenticity of the New Testiment are completely wrong. The first 5 chapters on the gospels will impress you with how much is known, but the last few chapters are even better. The notion that the New Testiment authors did not live in the first century or actually see the events of Jesus' life in person is a MYTH. Read Jesus And History if you want the undeniable facts.
