Play with Me is a 1955 picture book written and illustrated by Marie Hall Ets. The book tells the story of a girl who attempts to play in a meadow with animals. The book was a recipient of a 1956 Caldecott Honor for its illustrations.

A little girl with the most engaging mannerisms, goes for a walk in the woods one day and tries her best to catch each animal and get it to play with her. Marie Hall Ets (December 16, 1895 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – January 17, 1984 in Inverness, Florida) was an American writer and illustrator who is best known for children's picture books. She attended Lawrence College, and in 1918, Ets journeyed to Chicago where she became a social worker at the Chicago Commons, a settlement house on the northwest side of the city. There she met Ines Cassettari, an immigrant from Italy who worked at the settlement
