Lisa Unger writes with sharp psychological insight and bone-deep understanding of her characters. Gripping and suspenseful - praise for Lisa Unger! Die For You is about Isabel who is suddenly and unexpectedly betrayed by the person she trusts the most. The writing is beautiful but the best thing about this is the way the characters draw you in. Unger does a fantastic job of developing both Isabel and her sister and I found the plot thrilling and well written.

Die for you; Lisa Unger I loved this book. Lisa Unger is the New York Times and internationally bestselling author of seventeen novels, including The Stranger Inside

Die for you; Lisa Unger I loved this book. It gives the reader a sense of how life can really be. It has many side stories that create suspense. I wouldn't recommend this book for readers who don't like flowery writing. Lisa Unger doesn't just get to the point. Lisa Unger is the New York Times and internationally bestselling author of seventeen novels, including The Stranger Inside. In 2019, she received two Edgar Award nominations, an honor held by only a few writers including Ruth Rendell and Agatha Christie.

Lisa Unger ding cut with scissors-I wasn’t outraged in the way one would expect. I recognized the poetry of it. We’d built a life, collected memories, had things to show for that journey. As I walked through the rooms crowded by my memories, somehow it seemed appropriate in this moment that those things should be in pieces. The air hummed with malice

I'm a big fan of this author, Lisa Unger, and have read many of her books. "Die for You" is unacceptably bad. The main character, Isabel, is described by other characters as strong and intelligent, but her actions are exactly the opposite. She goes from one stupid decisionn to the next. The narration switches from one character's point of view to another's. At times, I wasn't even clear on who was telling the story.

Sorry, Lisa, we expect better writing from you.

I never read anything by Lisa Unger before and this was excellent. I stayed up all night finishing it because I couldn't put it down. What is most amazing is how Unger builds and maintains tension. She expertly weaves the backstory into this novel. She is a master of psychological suspense. I had an idea of how it might end and even though I was right, it wasn't anticlimatic for me in any way. Meaning that since I guessed correctly, you'd think the ending would not be exciting for me but I still very much enjoyed it. Her writing is beautiful. I can't wait to read the rest of her work!

Lisa Unger is an excellent writer who keeps you involved from page one until he end.

Lisa Unger writes a great story, she is all about telling you why someone does something, you may not agree but people don't all act the same. This wife goes through an awful lot trying to understand why her husband is gone. The lesson here is not to be blinded by only seeing what you want to see. It's hard to keep your mind open especially when you are looking at yourself. In the end I guess the chase was something she had to do.

From the streets and neighborhoods of Manhattan to the cobbled pathways of Prague, the author skillfully leads the reader--sometimes along circuitous routes--until finally, as the story comes to a close, the pieces fall into place.

Alternating between the third-person narrative of several key characters, as they are spotlighted, and the first-person voice of Isabel Raine, the tale is woven together in a back-and-forth fashion, beginning at the end of the story with a brief prologue. We meet Isabel and Marcus Raine--she is a best-selling author, he is an entrepreneur--who live in an upscale apartment and seemingly have the world at their feet.

Then Marcus disappears. At first, Isabel thinks he is just preoccupied at work; but when he has not come home by the second day, she goes to his office building. And there all hell breaks loose, as the office is stormed by people who identify themselves as FBI. But nothing is ever as it seems in this tale, and of course, the intruders--who also ransack the apartment later on--have a much more sordid agenda.

And then, as Isabel scrambles to make sense of what has happened to her husband, she must also face the truth that he is not who he appears to be either.

Will Isabel find the answers she seeks, and if she does, will she be able to pinpoint the unique vulnerability that made her a target? Will she be able to heal and finally trust again?

A page turner that kept me up at night, Die for You: A Novel yields a captivating story--one that delivers completely, just as Unger's other novels have done.
