The Deal by. Tony Drury (Goodreads Author). A flash of Lightning by.

Tony is the author of five DCI Sarah Rudd City thrillers. In each, he draws upon his career as a London financier to expose the underworld of dark practices and shadowy characters. None, however, are able to withstand the bravery and incisive detection methods of one of the police force’s bravest officers. Plus news of giveaways and competitions. It's a great way to keep in touch with my readers too. Tony is the author of five DCI Sarah Rudd City thrillers.

It was very boring.

Having thoroughly enjoyed Megan's Game the debut novel from this author, I was delighted to be given the opportunity to read and review The Deal his second novel.
This is a romantic thriller, a genre appeals to many, an easy read that keeps you turning the pages as the plot builds. The setting in the financial district and a publishing house I found of particular interest.

If you manage to make your way through the maze that is this book then you feel like you've completed an assault course. I appreciate that it was fairly well-written and will appeal to many readers, but I never felt at ease, nor did I gain any enjoyment from reading it. Maybe it was my fault. I'm happy to take the blame. I've still rated it OK and I'm sure others will praise it unreservedly, so read a few reviews, then take your pick.

The lack of dividers between scenes made it very hard work indeed, which is a shame as overall the plot and writing were good. Even a double space between paragraphs when the scene/characters changed would have helped!

Well-written yarn which keeps the reader enthralled from start to finish. I really enjoyed this slow burner. My only criticism would be the lack of dividers between scenes but you get used to that quite quickly. Looking forward to reading the next Tony Drury Thriller.

I found this a fascinating read, especially with the insights into financing, and how capital can be raised. Have read nearly all of Tony's books now and for the most part, have found them to be 'good reads'.
