A bit silly at times. A love triangle that I think will go on forever....hmm. One book of the series is enough for me I think.

Stella Whitelaw has created a series about a woman who got kicked off a local police force. She becomes a PI and a junk shop owner. The books are full of quirky scenarios, and an often frustrating love angle. I love reading about places that I have visited in England. I've been to the South Downs, and Dorking. I can see these places in my mind's eye.

A great series that reads like procedural novellas. Suspense, twists, no raw gore and tortures, no raunchy sex, well written with only the rare typo, interesting storylines, sparkling prose, likeable characters ... even good descriptions of landscapes and interiors as well as excellent
sense of humor. All of the titles are well worth reading.
