I didn't find this entry in the series as bad as some reviewers. The mystery is a good one, the issue of rape is handled well, and the resolution satisfying. I have to agree, though, that the coffee/teasing/board games/softball business is getting really tedious. I so don't care about softball, and the image of the "throbbing caffeine lobe" in Kelly's brain is, frankly, just plain unpleasant. I don't really want to think about anybody's brain lobes throbbing, thank you very much. The oft-repeated character keys, such as Marty's greed and boorish eating of everything in sight are one-dimensional and in his case, unpleasant. He's not an endearing character, he's an inconsiderate pig. Wouldn't invite him to my party. I'd like to see some development of these characters, since Ms. Sefton insists on us spending so much (too much) time with them.
Overall, not a bad book, but not a great one, either.

I really want to like Maggie Sefton's books, but regretfully I find them boring. I couldn't finish this one. There is too much minutiae that serves little or no purpose in advancing the story, and I just lost interest.

I love this series. I drink a cup of coffee, read a chapter every morning. It has now become an awesome part of my routine. It never fails to make me want to knit or crochet. I love the build up and the post climax to the stories.

As all the previous books of the series, it is light, fun and a great mystery. All characters are very well designed. And the best part: you always want to start knitting something new. Very likable. Makes you wish for the next book.
this is a terrific series for knitters who enjoy myteries, still a good choice for non-knitters. a pattern is a littoe extra in each book. engaging main characters and always an engaging plot
