This is an excellent book. I went through an M.A. program at CA State University asking to be taught what was in this book, yet never being taught it. Then I got into an M.S. program at another CA State University and this book was the required text. I was stunned. It was everything I had been asking for during my M.A. program yet was never helped with. This book is so clear regarding the scientific method and how to use it, that I will keep this as a reference text for life. The writing of this book keeps a potentially dull topic lively but most importantly, this book is clear and well-organized. The tips it gives make it very clear how one goes about conducting research and producing a scientific paper. I HIGHLY recommend this book and wish I had been given it many years ago. I actually think this should be required reading for all high school students as it is very important information that everyone should know, not just as a designer, student, scientist, but also as a consumer and one who has to gauge what statistics mean in their own lives. If I ever teach, I will figure out a way to use this book as a required text.

The text is very informative and is in very good condition. I am pleased with all of the information contained in the book and the ability to apply it to the course study. It has never been clearer to me how important good, credible research is. Methods and terminology are those I am certain I will use in my professional pursuit of a career in the sociology field. Now it is possible for me to grasp what is credible research and what is simply 'just enough information' necessary to sell a product or an idea. I highly recommend this text.

Not a review but a question. I rented the digital kindle version of this textbook for my research in psychology class and at the end of each chapter it says "Chapter Quiz" but I can't click on it, does anyone know how I can get access to these quizzes? Trying to study for my exam on Weds.

Examples are easy to understand and the book does not use too much technical jargon to confuse a student.

Informative and was needed for my class
This book is not bad but the content is extremely boring. I would love to see more experiments and a larger portion of "hands on" type information.
