Happy to find this book still in print for a new grandchild & his family's use (mine is well-used). Years ago I relied on it as a new mother and it really was an important reference book in my home library.

I had this book growing up; a different edition though. Ordered it for nostalgia ...and to have on hand, as it really is good for walking you through many emergencies and how to treat injuries.

This is an excellent First Aid resource & simple, clear instruction book.
It should be easily accessible in every household.

The print is extra large - to allow a scared reader to follow easily.
The index is cleverly arranged - to enable a panicked person to find the page needed in seconds.

I highly recommend this book, and have purchased to give many people over the years.

As a child, I grew up with "a sigh of relief" in our home, and it always came in handy when someone was injured. The color coded sections make it quick to find something in an emergency, and nearly every injury imaginable is covered with pictures and text so that when you are in a panic directions are easy to understand.

I recommend this to anyone who has a child and even to adults without children, as the instructions cross over to camping, hunting, fishing, electrical injury and seizures etc.

Additionally, I would recommend that parents give this book to their children to study, as my parents did. I was in a situation with an epileptic in high school who went into a seizure in class, and I was the only one (including the teacher who had apparently been instructed by the school in how to help her) who knew what the proper steps were to clear the space around her, hold the back of her head etc. It was all from reading this book frequently (because I liked the pictures) so giving it to a child can give them the tools to help someone with a potentially serious injury.
