Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. A new approach to investigating ionization and excitation mechanisms within the inductively coupled plasma (ICP) is described. The method involves a comparison of the spatial behavior of analyte emission intensities with the concentration product of reacting species as predicted by an assumed kinetically controlling mechanism. The atomic emission emanating from the plasma is viewed in either a radial or axial configuration, collected with a lens or mirror, and imaged onto the entrance slit of a wavelength selection device.
In book: Practical Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy, p. 5-87. We demonstrate that the emitter can either enhance absorption by 1000 times or cloak the structure. Cite this publication. All of these crystals exhibit broadband absorption around 1 μm and broadband emission in the spectral range between . and . μm. At low temperatures zero-phonon transitions as well as pronounced phonon sidebands are observed. Surface Plasmon-Assisted Transmission and Emission from Subwavelength Patterned Apertures.
