Blackstone-Ford is a divorce and stepfamily mediator who married Jupe’s first husband. Together, they’ve written a thoughtful, well-informed guide to practicing good behavior after a divorce or separation. Their combined experiences as wife and ex-wife, along with Blackstone-Ford’s professional expertise, allow them to expound on a number of situations. Indeed, it seems they cover all the bases: introducing a new romantic interest to your ex, interacting with a "counterpartner" (. the ex or new partner) when there’s been an affair, handling attraction among stepsiblings, dealing.

I recently saw Jann Blackstone-Ford and Sharyl Jupe, authors of Ex-Etiquette for Parents: Good Behavior After a Divorce or Separation, interviewed on Good Morning America, and decided to take a look at their book. Most of my practice is devoted to marriage counseling and working with divorced families.

I bought this for a gift for a "newly single dad with custody" he is already doing a lot of things, I wanted to give him a support system. He loves it, too.

I am a clinical social worker, in practice for over thirty five years now. I recently saw Jann Blackstone-Ford and Sharyl Jupe, authors of Ex-Etiquette for Parents: Good Behavior After a Divorce or Separation, interviewed on Good Morning America, and decided to take a look at their book. It's impressive. Most of my practice is devoted to marriage counseling and working with divorced families. I wish I had a copy of this book to hand out to every divorcing couple with children. The book is clear, concise, easily understood. More importantly, it espouses all the values and teaches all the skills I hope my clients walk out of my office with. It will certainly be a "must read" recommendation. It's a long overdue, and very inspiring work!

I enjoyed reading this book after my separation. I found it a very helpful what to do and more importantly what not to do resource. I liked it so much I passed it onto my ex wife for her benefit. I recommend this book if you are newly separated.

Excellent advice. It is very important to consider your child's feelings and not just your own. Definitely a "MUST READ" for all parents who want to do what is best for their children, even though it is not possible to stay married to eachother.

It was especially helpful when it comes to parties on whether you should invite the divorced couples children, relatives etc. I only wish the two that got divorced would find the time to read it.

There were some good takeaways and I definitely saw a fair amount of the negative behaviors in my own and my fiancé's relationships with our ex's. Not totally sold on everything in their, but well worth the read.
Found it to be helpful in areas that applied to my family situation.
