At first it seemed like a lot of fluff, but once you get into it, it's a fairly decent textbook. There are four things that could really help put the book over the top:

1) An app - See the Android App "Statistics Quick Reference"

2) Formula sheets or summaries - At the end of each chapter or at the end of the book, a list of the formulas and when to use them. This sort of falls in line with number 3

3) Better summaries or a better way to have important stuff stand out - I've read the book (well as far as I've had to so far) and when I go back to find something I need to review, it's not always easy to find. There are a few good example of this, like the definitions in 1.1, but there could be more.

4) A calculator app - This could be rolled in with the first one, but most calculator apps seem to do far more than needed or far less.
Book was in great condition!
This is the assigned book for an online Statistics course I am taking through CalCampus. I'm doing it as a prerequisite and am essentially teaching the subject to myself. Good thing I have this book since I've never successfully taken Stats before! (Last time I enrolled in a college course on Statistics, I dropped after the first day -- it was so dry, boring & confusing I said NO THANKS!!)

However, this book is well written enough, and also has pretty decent online resources as well, I am making it through the course without too much trouble. Only big complaint is it doesn't have the answers to the practice problems so had to buy additional books for practice problems (what good are practice problems if you can't check your answers?)

Still, gave it a 5 for being forward thinking in format, EXTREMELY well written, and easy to follow! BTW, this book actually makes Statistics interesting & relevant as a topic too!
Book arrive 3 days late, but to make things worse the first half of the book has severe water damage. Not a good purchase for me.
5 ????
I find this Stat textbook to be very helpful in covering the course topics with clear explainations, charts and graphs. The book also highlight key points and definitions. My statistic professor follows the textbook very closely. No complaints!
Easy to read. Good examples.
