I have taken statistics before and understand how to perform the calculations just find. This text is an exception. It teaches you, in layman's terms, exactly why and how to plan a study. Gives you every day examples and links you to current samples as well as hotly contested studies (such as the 2012 presidential election).

It guides you through the steps to avoid performing a bad study. I love it. It is providing an understanding of statistics that will stay with me for life.

I am a Kaplan Univ student and this book was a plus when I took Statistics. It was available via ebook from school but having the text was better as I was able to flip back and forth and that helped me understand the processes better. I highly recommend this book for any student taking Statistics. It also has the Z scores and T charts in the Appendix and is great for use in chapters 6-conclusion

This is a fantastic book if you are taking a statistics class and it is a great book even if you're just a casual stats nerd. This text was required for a stats class I took and it really helped me get through the class with ease. The book provides clear and thorough explanations for statistical operations and definitions. The book even makes a mundane topic like stats seem interesting. The book also does a good job of demonstrating how statistics are applicable to everyday life (as the book title implies). The supplemental SPSS guide is a very good text as well. The SPSS guide is great for beginner users of the SPSS program and it contains instructions for more advanced calculations as well.

This book should be called stats made easy because it really makes statistics easy. At least it did for me. The examples and explanations make sense and are written in "real" English, not "math" English, if that makes sense.

Book was in great condition. Super fast shipping. Thank you! Just what I needed!!!!
I bought this text book because it was required for a particular college class. I have not found it to be of interest because it was not my choice to buy it.
