Knight is at the University of Durham, UK. Michael Faraday, a British physicist and chemist, was one of the greatest experimentalists of the nineteenth century. The son of a blacksmith, Faraday received a minimal education, which did not include much training in mathematics. After a series of experiments using polarized light, Faraday proposed an electromagnetic theory of light.
Chemistry began as the occult science of alchemy; in the 17th century it became a mechanical science and about 1800 it began to be understood as a fundamental science. Bloomsbury Publishing.
