For stellar structure, try any of these. by Kenneth C. Jacobs and Elske . I used this book in an independent study class in astronomy and astrophysics while I was an undergraduate. You will need to know your college physics and some math but that should be expected since this is not a descriptive text. A good, general overview for a survey class.

Books published in A&A Library present proven, mature facts and expose . As in any other field of science, teaching and training at the graduate level is invaluable for the advancement of astronomy and astrophysics.

The series A&A Library, however, is more. It aims to close the gap between the astronomical sciences and other areas of modern physics.

I showed a doctor friend this book the day that I received it. He looked through a few pages and said, "I want this!" I gave it to him and will order another. But my doctor friend is brilliant and the fact that he was so impressed speaks volumes.

I can't find any fault with the actual material of the book in question. However, having an introductory astrophysics textbook printed entirely in greyscale? That is ridiculous. For the price there should be at least some different colored ink. Don't let the nifty cover fool you. The inside is as boring as...I can't even think of something boring enough to compare it to.

The Book is a fair book for ones own personal library. It is a great reference book for a amateur Astrophysist.

OK!

This book is in its fourth edition and is extremely expensive. It is rife with errors e.g. the value for Planck's constant in the back-of-the-book reference table is incorrect. Also, it's extremely elementary, maybe suited for a 100 level introductory course, if it weren't for all the errors that is.

Nicely written textbook for the first year student in astronomy and astrophysics. Clearly written.

I did not expect much from a $40 book that sells new for over $200.00. But I needed it for M.I.T's online class.
It was very good, reliable and the product is what I expected to be. Thank you for the safe shipping, I wish the shipping was a little faster though.
