Mil Violines (A Thousand Violins) was composed around 1949 by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, songwriters and composers who worked in movies, television and stage. This Spanish version was included in Chucho Avellanet's Love & Violins recording in 1984. Chucho Avellanet was born on August 13, 1941 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. With an over-five-decade career, Avellanet is well known as one of, if not the, greatest bolero singers that Puerto Rico ever produced. The symphonic arrangement belongs to Franklin Pire. The Houston Latin American Philharmonic is led by maestro Glenn Garrido.
