Music played softly, and she recognised that it was Bach-one of me Brandenburg concertos. It was all persuasively, beguilingly comfortable. And she was nearly, but not quite, lulled into acceptance.

Music played softly, and she recognised that it was Bach-one of me Brandenburg concertos. She struggled to sit up straight. Where are we going?' she demanded huskily. To the hotel,' he said. I'd prefer lo go back to my own flat. Which I'm sure has only a single bed,' Nick returned. We'll be marginally more comfortable at the Majestic, as I'm sure you'll appreciate.

Will he get his wedding-night baby? Virginal beauty Cally Maitland has become accustomed to life on the run since fleeing her marriage to aristocrat Sir Nicholas Tempest. But Nicholas isn't prepared to let Cally go. Indeed, he has a harsh ultimatum to deliver: give him their long-overdue wedding-night - and provide him with an heir!

His Wedding-Night Heir - Sara Craven. Tonight, she thought, adding a muted lustre to her lips, she would get out her map book and decide where to go next.

His Wedding-Night Heir - Sara Craven. In many ways redevelopment was exactly what was needed for the entire area, Cally conceded reluctantly as she walked down to the Centre, where the admin office was based.

His Wedding-Night Heir book. It has some very traditional 'Sara Craven' elements but it was also a slightly different plot. I really liked the character of Cally and how she tried so hard to be strong. Her reasons for believing what she did are well detailed and understandable. I do think the book should have included the hero's point of view, I felt it was lacking from his side. The interaction between the characters does, at times, feel a little forced but the conflict, when it comes, is executed brilliantly. Another enjoyable Sara Craven book. When one is marrying, a mature man would communicate to the woman he loves: that he loves her and his illegitimate sister lives down the road! The heroine was young and still in shock after losing her home to fire and her grandfather's subsequent death - how was she to know that he loved her - so, of course, she was unsure of herself. He leaves on their wedding day, doesn't tell her that he is going to help his sister, neglects to inform her that he was even leaving and after a jealous family member tells her that her new husband is down the road with his lover - the young bride checks it out. She sees them in a clinch and then her husband goes upstairs with the other woman! Bride runs away.
The rest of this ridiculous story is a year later - after he bribes her to come home and share his bed- because he needs a heir. There is still no communication. The sex is good, she is miserable and he is still going down the street all the time. TALK, PEOPLE, TALK! What a waste.

Th s was a super quick book to read. It was entertainment book that has HEA with the right amount of drama/angst.

This novel is good I recommend it

I enjoyed this book immensely, yet my only issue was how allowed herself to be manipulated at every angle. The story had a wonderful premise. I enjoyed how the author wrote with such descriptive words that I felt like I was a part of the story. I could definitely imagine the main characters (Cally and Nicholas) and their miss-communications.

Towards the end of the book all I kept on wishing was for them to sit down and talk. If they would have been honest with one another from the very beginning, perhaps all the problems would never have happened.

I really disliked how the hero and heroine interact in this novel.

Cally ran away, because, big surprise, she thought she caught her husband, Nicholas, cheating on her hours after their wedding. She didn't even confront him, instead she just ran off and hid herself in various little towns around the country.

Of course, she wasn't actually as hidden as she though she was.

Nicholas is now confronting her and demanding she play the role of wife again-- in order to save a community project she had been working on in the town she had be living in. He blackmails her into being his wife and delivering a child in exchange for supporting her project.

It is sort of uncomfortable to read books where sex is bartered like that, especially since she really isn't all that willing.

As the book unfolds, Cally learns the errors of her assumptions and becomes a far more willing participant in the baby making.

I never really read really good romance books nowadays. But this was really good. At the end they talked about what lead her to run away, the husband tries a couple different times to start over (but honestly the wife is just to hurt understandable) by telling her just to forget the pass and move on. Its not even like the other book with the men say that but keep throwing it in their faces, He really does try to forget it all and start it over. But the wife really stays strong and tries not to lose her heart to him again. If he wasn't a multimillionaire (but then it wouldn't be the book that it is) then it would seem like it was a real life story.

Innocent Caroline "Cally" Maitland married Nicholas Tempest for love. She thought they would have a HEA, but was disillusioned when she saw him in the arms of OW consoling her. Being terribly hurt she ran and continued to run for over twelve months.

Nicholas had some secrets that he should have shared with his virginal wife, but for some reason didn't feel that they were his secrets to tell. He paid the price for not being upfront with her. Dealing with anger and embarrassment at his bride's abandonment shortly after their marriage, Nicholas at first doesn't seek her out. Gradually he starts to realize that he needs to find Caroline and put an end to the whole fiasco.

Nice romance, truly believed that Nicholas cared for Caroline. He was distraught when she had disappeared like that and while I didn't condone him sleeping with other women I found the fact that he did quite believable. She was gone for so long and he didn't know where he was or what he was really doing since he would drown his sorrows in a bottle and the women . . . he was just using them. Once he has her back he does blackmail her back into his life, but he really loved her and he wasn't going to force her to keep up her end of the bargain in the end. He just didn't seem to know how to handle her or why she ran away. She doesn't tell him until the end. But he was honest in admitting about the other woman and the HEA . . . was very believable. Believed he loved her because of the way he fought for even against her grandfather.

Eventhough the idea is not new, I love most of Ms.Craven's story line, very typical and interesting.
