Funny how i race through Trisha Ashley's books like a starving person at a buffet, and then come up for air, and then go, is that it? am i done? is there more? There must be more... So then i start to relax and reread it again, getting the bits i missed the first time. Then by the third time i am really getting into each and every word like a fine dessert and savouring every bit. Her sentence structure is amazing, you're immediately in the plot, right there, in the thick of everyday life in the book. It's like drinking cognac, delicious. i never get tired of rereading her books.. this one, okay the cover is misleading - it is not about gardening, okay? But i am still totally charmed, no matter the plot, because i didn't know what to expect. But i am telling you, you have probably met or know people who can be quirky etc like the characters in her books. I think that's what makes them so delightful. They become like old familiar friends.
p.s. Dear Trisha, write faster!!!

This book is done in typical Trish Ashley style. A strong female character with enough quirks to make her both interesting and likeable, and eccentric supporting characters (and settings) that keep you hooked. I was pleasantly surprised with the ending, it was not what I was expecting! My favorite part was Tina Devino's letters. To make money on the side she reads manuscripts and offers critiques. I was continuously laughing out loud as I read her letters with their barley disguised digs. Looking for a light read that will keep you interested? Pick this book up!

I enjoy lighthearted books with happy endings. Daily life is "real" enough. The problem is that I read faster than the authors can write, so I always read them again and again. Keep them coming!

I've just discovered Trisha Ashley, and I'm only a few chapters into this book -- and I'm already in "lit love" with her! Her main character is smart and funny, and -- hurrah! -- happily middle-aged and sexually active. Brit romance novelist Tina Devino is battling a publishing world that doesn't appreciate "midlist authors." I don't know how this will turn out, but I'm already behind the quirky and sympathetic Tina all the way...and ready to order Ashley's other books.
