The Windchime Legacy is a look back at Cold War popular culture, to a time when the Soviet Union was the great enemy of western intelligence agents; not only is it very much in tune with its era, but it’s also the kind of spy novel they don’t make any more, and I’m not just talking about geopolitics.

An American computer scientist jeopardizes the top-secret Sentinel program, while Russia tries to obtain Sentinel's schematics, and two top Sentinel agents are sent to intercept the Russians

The Windchime Legacy is a winner in all respects. It is a complex puzzle of the international spy business. I didn't realize until I finished the book that it had been written in 1980. Out of date, no way! The plot and story line is just as believable today as it was then, maybe even more so. I am now looking for A. W. Mykel's other works. It is fun to find a "new" author of this quality to follow.

One of my favorites from long ago. I've reread it several times through the years. Nice to see it on kindle. I've always wondered what happened to the author!!?!?
Haal
Some graphic gratuitous, unnecessary sex that contributed nothing to the story line or character development. Ending sadly predictable.

Normally I would not be interested in a Cold War novel such as this -- it being so "out of date." But this book transcends the Cold War. Really amazing. The author is to be commended for thinking past the Cold War to the Balance of Power. Great Job!

Excellent story, I find it difficult to imagine how he was able to write this technically advanced story in the early 1980's. I will read his other books as well.

Book kept me bound from one minute to the next. Plus it was well over 300 pages, which I enjoyed. The point of the book was sufficiently credible, thus enjoyable. Recommended for those who consume books quickly and think.

I haven't been this engaged since I read my first Ludlum novel. A. W. Myself has written a stellar novel you won't be able to put down.
VERY full of twists and turns. Lots of action. Kind of dark at times. Yes, I liked it very much.
