Read in our apps: iOS. At gunpoint, she makes drinks, puts on music, and finally disrobes as Razek fights to ignore the voice in his head that tells him to kill her. Of course, the voice always wins in the end. Before he leaves, Razek plants evidence around the apartment implicating NYPD detective Ben Tolliver. Razek is a game player, and he thinks it would be fun to frame a cop for murder.

Dead Game and the other novels he has written, are all spectacular police novels. It is too bad that Mr. Harvey does not write any more. It is probably because he retired since he is about 70. I will always be looking for Mr. Harvey in the bookstores, just in case. BOOK ANALYSIS "DEAD GAME" A book by James Neal Harvey, has a great beginning, the suspense is very intriguing but as the book develop it just fall into a regular cop/killer story, more like a TV episode of "The Hunter" in an extended version, the details are very well explained and you can get a good picture of the scenery.

THE BOOK HAD A GOOD STORY TO IT BUT I DO THINK THAT THE BOOK COULD OF BEEN A LITTLE MORE SERCETIVE TO WHO THE KILLER IS. I LIKE BOOKS THAT U HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE KILLER IS TILL NEXT TO THE END OR U THINK U HAVE IT FIGURE OUT AND U ARE TOTALLY WRONG. OTHER THAN THAT THE BOOK WAS A VERY COP BOOK. THIS THE FIRST ONE OF HIS BOOKS THAT I HAVE READ AND I WILL BE READING MORE OF HIS BOOKS. I AM SORRY TO SEE THAT HE IS NOLONGER WRITTING BOOKS BUT I WILL PICK UP THE ONES OF HIS THAT I HAVE NOT READ IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

I agree with another reviewer that this book had a good beginning. Unfortunately it went down hill fast. First of all, at the crime scene the techs put plastic bags on the victims hands. No, just no. Plastic retains moisture and will degrade DNA. Then the main character drove somewhere and we got ALLLLLL the details. Up route 20 to some street turned left, left got gas, blah, blah, blah! Should have read something like, "He drove from the city to ....." About that time I quit and went to read a better book

Not bad overall, but can do without the misogynistic, often crass references to women throughout the book. Also, no woman with a gun to her head would get turned on during forced sex, aka rape, this is impossible to believe. I'd be willing to give this author another try but hope these drawbacks are not carried over to other books. Try a classy writer like Michael Connelly if you want quality writing.

BOOK ANALYSIS "DEAD GAME"
A book by James Neal Harvey, has a great beginning, the suspense is very intriguing but as the book develop it just fall into a regular cop/killer story, more like a TV episode of "The Hunter" in an extended version, the details are very well explained and you can get a good picture of the scenery. The ambiance is the same, good cop framed by an ex-con, the dialogues are good, although they are almost predictable. The personality of Razek although is interesting is very superficial despite the part about his medical history. I didn't like when the narrator used foul language, I can understand how a character like Razek can do it, even the cop, but the narrator has no grounds to use it. I thought the book was ok if you are into simplistic mystery and traditional history.
