Parris Mitchell knows what it's like to be on top of the world and what it feels like to be on the bottom. Being on a two year hiatus thanks to her former Manager/fiance Archie and assistant Sylvia, her world hit rock bottom. Archie and Sylvia rob Parris for a few of her accounts and hit the highway. Parris never saw it coming. Taking two years to recover from the hurt and embarrassment of it all, Parris is ready to make a comeback.

Carmen is Parris' publicist/ best friend and only has her best interest at heart. She hires the hottest producer in the game CJ the Hitmaker. To top that off, CJ is fine which has Carmen believing Parris will be in very good hands. Not realizing she was going to fall for this new guy the minute she met him, Parris is completely caught off guard with her feelings and goes straight into Diva mode, and pissing everyone around her off. CJ isn't tripping off Parris because he knows that he'll get her when the time is right.

The paparazzi have been on Parris' trail since the beginning of her career. Her comeback and spending time with the handsome playboy CJ have them working over time to catch everything she does on camera for print the next day. Being caught in a scandal the paparazzi comes up with turns Parris' world back around again. Trying to enjoy her career at her age and being back on top is not so easy dealing with the scandal that hit every air wave across the country.

I am not sure how I felt about this story. It kept you reading; however it was very repetitive and predictable. Double Platinum was a quick and easy read but Parris kind of got on my nerves with all her drama that wasn't necessary half the time.

Or will she need some help to boost her career? While laying low she was trying to mend a broken heart from a previous marriage that was a scam designed to leave her broke and brokenhearted. Can love find this diva? Will she be able to trust again? Dealing with trust issues and lack of self-esteem can Parris pull it together to go Double Platinum?

Casper "CJ the Hitmaker" Johnson: One of the best producers in the music industry is the number one guy to go to who will make you a star. Creating and tweaking the personas of today's artist is his best job, but when Casper falls for his latest artist can he separate business from pleasure?

I loved the way Sheila Goss told this story, it was very lively, animated, thrilling and the twists and unsuspecting turns left me delirious wondering what could possibly happen next. I recommend this to readers of all genres; there is something in here for everyone; mystery, romance, and down-and-dirty erotica. Kudos to Sheila Goss! Keep up the good work!

Ms. Goss weaves an ENTERTAINING story with "Double Platinum"...I found myself CAUGHT UP in all the glitz, glamour and DRAMA of R&B singer, Parris Mitchell's life...and SEXY, hardworking (younger by 5 years) music producer Casper Johnson DEFINITELY has his hands full trying to earn Parris' trust and CAPTURE her heart due to his well-publicized playboy reputation...the full cast of characters is quite COLORFUL, lively and memorable...and the very subtle intimate scenes are REFRESHING...the UNEXPECTED twists and turns keep me turning the pages to see what will become of Parris' career and her budding romance with Casper...I also enjoy catching up with Rose and Lance from "Rose Are Thorns, Violets Are True"...a sensual and THRILLING fictional glimpse into celebrity lifestyles and the obstacles one might have to overcome while ATTEMPTING to pursue their dreams.

"Double Platinum" by Shelia Goss would go Platinum itself if it was an album. Shelia's fiesty main character Parris forced to put out her best album or be booted from her current label. While working with a hot, sexy, popular producer she falls hard for him and it takes her and her emotions on an up and down roller coaster of events. You'll feel her hatred, love, excitement and engery as you read Shelia's novel!
