Marjory Stoneman Douglas is known as the Mother of the Everglades

Marjory Stoneman Douglas is known as the Mother of the Everglades. She wrote The Everglades: River of Grass, the seminal and now classic book on this unique region of south Florida. Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings is best known for her books set in Florida: The Yearling, Cross Creek, and South Moon Under, all set in the then-remote wilderness of central Florida. Her very popular books brought the world's attention to the importance of the culture and natural environment of this region. Marjorie Harris Carr fought to save the Oklawaha River by challenging the building of the Cross Florida Barge Canal.

The Fight is a 1975 non-fiction book by Norman Mailer about the boxing title fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman at Kinshasa in Zaire in 1974, known as the "Rumble in the Jungle". The author is both the narrator and, in an example of illeism, a central figure in the story. To begin with, "Norman" goes to Ali's training camp at Deer Lake, Pennsylvania and observes his preparations. Clearly, Ali is his hero.

Fight the Good Fight is an excellent book that goes where a lot of books don't generally tread: religion. For good reason, just talking about a person's beliefs can often end in heated discussions. The main character is David Cohen, a young man a path to becoming a rabbi. But circumstances in his life change and he finds that sometimes one's chosen path can deviate, yet one can still be of service, but in a different way. David's faith shapes him as a character and the choices he makes.
