This is a pretty typical Harliquin Novel. However, Tara Taylor Quinn, did make it interesting enough for me to look forward to reading the other 3 books in the series. She does a decent job of tying two voices into one story, and unlike far too many other Harliquin authors, doesn't feel the need to waste text fillng it full of 3-5 pages of "love making" whenever she needs filler to try and sell the story or make it longer. With that said, the book goes into the manipulative side of domestic violence that keeps many victims confused, dening their situation and second guessing themselves throughout relationships. For a Harliquin it's a 4-5 star, but competeing against a world of authors I would have to say its a 3 star, but worth the read all the same if you have ever been with a person and left wondering "What just happened there?"
I was actually pretty disappointed in this book. I actually found myself advancing through pages. There is no romance at all between Jane and Brad. Even during the one time they are together that results in Jane's pregnancy. Best friends all the way, although after their "incident", they can barely talk to each other. It bothered me that Brad was actually dating another woman and considering going to bed with her until almost the end of the book!! In the last few pages they finally admit they love each other, but I almost feel like they are just stuck together. It would have been nice to maybe have an epilogue, just to get a little more info on their life together. I wish I could get my money back on this one.
I picked up on of this author's books during a shopping trip. It sounded interesting so I purchased it. It intrigued me to the point that I wanted to continue the series. I enjoyed all 4 of this authors stories with many of the same characters.

I read these books out of order, but each one stands alone very well. This one was just as good as the third one, which is the one I read first. The character of the psychologist is engaging because she is just another "regular" person.
good book. I like this author. i don't get the chance to read any more but when i did i would read this authors books
This first book in a series of four was a little slow compared to the next three, but keep reading and they only get better! The fourth one is outstanding!
